TRO:3063 - the Panzer X

66 tons. Main gun is an AC/10 capable of firing a wide range of special ammunition. Backed by dual Artemis-controlled SRM-4s. Defense includes eleven tons of ferro w/CASE, an AMS and an ECM suite. Moves 4/6 and is powered by a light fusion engine.

I am checking on the LFE - it may not be appropriate for this era, but Geoffrey will know....

This is based off cannon art, yes? It's a very nice job either way. The shot trap makes me cringe, but BT has never been known for its respect of armour design/physics.
Yea, though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I shall fear no Evil, for I am the baddest motherfucker in the Valley and God has my six.

Nice looking AFV with a pretty cool loadout, i also like the look and style of the troopers especially the one ankle deep in the snow, they remind me of the Ground Zero Games minis for the Federal States Europa (French) in Stargrunts. :)

No, it is not based on canon art. In fact, it is a new design. I sympathize with the shell trap flinch; I feel that way myself, but to be honest, if we are going to have anything that doesn't look just like modern stuff, we have to reach a bit when it comes to AFV design.

Personally, I see enough wiggle room in FASA-nomics and FASA-physics that shell traps aren't quite the b*tch they would be in the real world. In the game, as it is played, the tanks don't degrade or blow up suddenly based on perceived weaknesses in their artistic rendering.

I can only hope we have the same artistic leeway. We will avoid the really crazy stuff, however.

without an overhead or quartering view to get a better feel of the tank, it looks more like a 40 tonner than 65.

and by shot traps, I assume you are talking about the highly exposed track system. CRINGE? oh !@#! yeah.

But when is someone gonna do a BT design of the old Cobra HISS tank?

  you know you want to...

Well... we were careful to get the scaling as close as we could to real tanks which weigh in the fifty ton range.

My son built an F-22 model once in 1/72 scale. Meanwhile, I had a 1/72 scale Warhammer and desired to have a real-world scale soldier and tank to show off next to it. I got one from Ebay. We sat the Raptor down next to the T-72 and were amazed at how tiny the tank appears in relation to the single-seat fighter....

Yeah, tracks are exposed. Really, you're not going to stop anything which could strip a track with a little bit of sheet metal shielding. Even if it looks good, it's not really going to make a difference.
