I opted in at the $125 level. My nerdery is going to be Battletech themed with the old 3025 blueprint posters framed on the wall. I figure a House Davion banner would fit in nicely.

I fixed my car plus ordered replacement seats (5 years as a security guard tore up the seats to the metal). We also owe money to very good friends and family so we have to keep our entertainment purchases to almost non-existent while the wife tries to dig us out of this hole with her job.

Besides, HBS is using the MWO art which is a big turn off.

I am not so concerned about the art considering I have been waiting for years for a good BattleTech computer game. I've been playing MechCommander 2 again and wishing for new game so I'll survive the art if the game is good. That's what matters more to me. I do understand not liking the art though.

I am thrilled to see the campaign reached all the goals! What a huge achievement and great support from the BT community!

PvP wasn't very high on my list of priorities but I am glad it got to that goal. I contributed after the first 24 hours and am looking forward to both the game and the perks. Now to wait until it gets released.

I actually play the game regularly.

the artwork is different, but not JARRINGLY so. Nowhere as bad as MWO.

I'm on my 2nd Campaign now. I missed the FP where you go after the derelict ship, which leads to you encountering The Bounty Hunter AND Natasha Kerensky, and then eventually you get the Bullshark. Yeah, the Damn thing did NOT show an "Expires in "X" Days" indicator, so I didn't get into any hurry to go after it. Then I see it's GONE!! I did ALL the other Flash Points, then did a lot of the other usual BS Contracts. STILL never came back. I was PISSED!!


Bit the bullet, started a new campaign. As soon as I got access to the Black Market . . . I'm getting entire 'Mechs FOR FREE! The Pirates HATE MY GUTS!! They charged me 2.5 MILLION C-Bills for my SAM's Club membership fee. Then I've had to pay it at least once more since then, maybe twice. Then they give me ENTIRE 'Mechs for free? Oh man, Hate me some more!


I've got a Brother playing it, and he sided with one of the Factions, and their Faction Store is giving him a few free 'Mechs, but he can't get access to the Black Market. Can he not access the Black Market because he's Allied with a Faction?

By the way, I found out online, you can "Modify" your .json files. Yes I have. Yes I told my Brother about it, and he's gone even MORE NutZ with it than I have. But we're Having FUN, ENJOYING our games, which is what matters. SOOOO Great to have 50 shots per ton of Gauss ammo, for example.

My LRM and SRM ammo are BOTH . . . 500/ton.

I posted about a few of my Mods in a FB Group a month or so back, some Whiner was like "I didn't know this was the thread to come to cheat."

Yeah, I let him have it with both barrels. I don't tell other people HOW to play and enjoy the game THEY paid THEIR money for. I'm playing against a Computer Opponent, who ALSO cheats, so turnabout is Fair Play. If you don't think the computer cheats, you've OBVIOUSLY Never been "Sensor Locked" by them from WAAAAAAYYYY beyond sensor range of any of your own 'Mechs. Along with being shot by 'Mechs, vees or turrets from well beyond your firing range, much less Sensor range. Been there, Done that, and it's BULLSHIT every time.

But yeah, the KEY is to ONLY modify Ammo counts, and the +++ weapons. If you modify the "Normal" weapons, you're giving the computer the same adjustments, which NEGATE any advantage you're trying for. Yes, you have to wait until you can find the +++ weapons, but it's still better than using the "Vanilla" versions. Most of my weapons have ER PPC range, for example. Including SRMs, which can also fire indirectly. I could also mention a way to make an INSANE amount of C-Bills early on as well. When you don't have to worry about having the C-Bills to stay afloat, you can travel around taking all sorts of Contracts and training your MechWarriors. I always train mine, Gunnery, Tactics, Piloting, Guts, in that order. I go for Sensor Lock and Multi-Targetting for the 1st two skills, then the one that gives them the +1 to initiative. "Master Tactician", I think it is? I keep all the skills even as I earn experience also, rather than running any one skill up to 10 by itself.


As for packing/moving. I did that myself back from early OCT to the beginning of DEC, 2019. I do NOT envy you! I know MY move SUCKED, and I had the help of one of my Memphis Brothers. He was moving boxes easily that I wouldn't have been able to budge! But at least now I Think I've got 99% of my BT stuff all in ONE room. As opposed to 2 rooms, the closet in one of those rooms, some in a potable storage shed, and some in my Dad's workshop. Still a LOT of small boxes, but I'm Hoping to get rid of some of them and combine things into larger boxes, or else Plano storage cases.

I'd lived there since March of '85, and had a LOT of stuff to go through! I had my stuff, stuff from both parents, and my Mom's Dad. In the end though, I left a LOT of things behind. Some stuff I knew about, some I never even looked at. But I sold the place to a Cousin, and I'd told him that beforehand and he was cool with it. My older brother wasn't too happy, but that's a whole 'Nother discussion/story/can-o-worms.


Oh, the "50 Shots/Ton" of Gauss Ammo is to feed Multiple Gauss Rifles. I've got a SCARY Annihilator! What's that? "Gausszilla"? How cute. I'll return fire with MY 5 Gauss Rifles. "But wait, there's More!" I follow up with SIX PPCs, and either 2 or 3 Small Lasers of some kind. Again, EVERYTHING reaching out to ER PPC range!

Wait, are we talking about the HBS Battletech game???

I totally made all the +++ Weapons in mine the Clan Tech stuff

And I made the DHS Clan Tech
With -8 heat instead of -6

And I took all the "Vanilla" chassis that can be gotten without expansions and made their "dry" weight to be that of them all having XL engines since the crit slots are missing in the torsos.

Plus I opened up the weapon bays on them to handle the extra weapons that there graphics for.
