I seem to remember Eriance saying he had a difficult time drawing quads.

As usual, he had produced another excellent drawing and improved upon the original. :thumleft:

Very nice looking and solid Mech, goes well and a natural successor to the original 3025 model.
How is your TRO going?

Well, visit http://battletechreader.blogspot.com/ for the nitty-gritty details, but here is a shorty:

- $300 left to pay on art.

- writing for the Scorpion II is in second draft.

- our new layout man is recovering from pneumonia.

- I am slowly saving up for thirty printed copies when this is done.

- otherwise we are done. Things are hinging on finishing art payments and our layout man getting back to work.

Will we be able to buy a printed copy?
I'd be willing to chip in.
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of my warpipes.

You cannot order it in advance. Sorry. You can, however reserve a place in line, if you will, to purchase at cost a printed copy when I reach the magic number and they are ready to go. You do that by donating over at the blog using the PayPal button. Donate over $50 and you will have a place in line. The money goes right to the artists.

I cannot promise a printed copy when I am still struggling to assemble the PDF.

In addition you may wish to reserve your dollars until you see the PDF. Who knows? You might not find it as impressive as you'd hoped.

I will explain this a bit better when I update my blog tomorrow.

Well, I went and caught up on your blog...
GOOD STUFF.
I'm also enjoying your music mix.

HGR in a Medium? I LOVE that concept.
Making the Scorpion II a heavy? Less enthused, but I can live with the logic.
When I spec'd out a ScorpII, I came up with

Nice read and good music, your TRO project seems to go the right way. I'm sure you'll finsh it and it will be a big success.
Personally I'm more then happy to see all that quality new art, and I believe the writing and layout will be topnotch also.
Dont forget to tell us when the hard copy is out...

I've had the privilege of contributing a small part of the writing as well as seeing some of the other write-ups. In my humble opinion we are all in for a treat when this is published.

It has been great to be part of the fan TRO 3063 project.

The Scorpion II is the just the tip of the iceberg of the great art, designs and just content in general.

I have seen some of the art and text that the general "public" has not. You all are in instore for a very good quality product.

And its totally fan produced!!!!

What really impresses me about this project is the dedication to quality. The images of the re-imagine unseen are head and shoulders above the great majority of the stuff that has been seen from the official producers.

I have no real bone to pick about the unseen mechs, other than they are really, really iconic and kick ass looking mechs, which by and large have had less than satisfactory replacement pictures, and yes I do mean the Project Phoenix stuff.

Obviously YMMV on this. Just stating my opinion is all.
The Unseen once seen cannot be unseen

Three years after receiving the first of Vadim's art and starting my writeups based on his designs, I can only say "Amen, brother" and hope like hell I get a thousand bucks from some rich dude or dudette who likes BattleTech.

Actually, payment is only one issue. Another is the change from one layout man to another, and the second one coming down ill.

Time, brothers and sisters. While we have to wait, it's true, the payments keep going out and I polish and polish, buffing the writing to a high-pro glow.

We essentially have all the components done; short a finished writeup, if I could locate a reliable layout man who could do the quality of work I need for this, I would be off and running. But I am not abandoning Josh - he is a good egg and talented, and it is not his fault he is ill. He will recover, and when he does I should have everything paid off.

I may have to borrow the start up money for the printing, but if folks pay me what I spend on each copy including shipping, there is no reason I cannot take the proceeds and plow them into another print run. When all is said and done, I will have exactly the cash with which I started, and I can just pay it back with a bit of interest.

Or so it seems. First things first.

I like what I see so far. A trip to your blog gave me enough to say "WOW, I want one!"

This book in paper would be outstanding.

I know Josh and he's done some excellent layout work for our Shattered Dawn fan publications. He's a man of his word and he will get it done. With him on board this will be top-notch work and definitely on par with anything produced by CGL.

I am counting on it. But he needs to heal first.
