A trip along memories lane - BTU Art

Post by shalom itay »

Alot of us get their daily fix by checking "posts from the last 24 hours".

However, this site has a long history since 2003.
Alot of knowlage is stored on the server, and the art section is not different.

I want to invite you to the gallery portion of the site - Fan art.
This section holds excellent works by present and former members.
So thumb through the album pages, enjoy and leave comments.

Here are a few nice examples:

I like Culverin's designs, although I do find his drawings to be a bit "soft" when it comes to the lines of the mech. Still, I am glad I have the old BTU calendar with the mechs he drew.

Cool look back.

And the funny part is the most of the clothes still fit.

Good art remains so even if 7 years have passed, and the good part is that
we have it all here.

The 2003 calendar was a project that I missed.
12 new Mechs, all by Culverin - now this is a testimony of skill and diligence.
To bad that I cant find the big size pictures. I think they were never released, and so lost to the annals of time.

Is the option to "rehash" it as a 2011 new PDF calendar open?

I don't know.
I like the idea, but some of the artists whose work I'd love to see in a calendar have moved on to other work and/or other sites.
However...
since the TRO fell apart,
perhaps we can scavenge thru its remains.
I'm certain that we had 12+ complete designs with artwork completed.
