Player Locator

Post by thecircus » Wed Dec 20, 2006 2:51 pm

I know that alot of the membership does not have a location for where they live in their profile, and it takes time to go through the list to look for someone who might be nearby, so I have decided to have thread to let ppl locate players that are in their area.

Members can post here if they are looking for players or games in their local area. I would like everyone to follow some rules though.

1: limit the area to within 1 to 1 1/2 hours drive from you.
2: no address or phone numbers. Use PMs or e-mail to send those.
3: keep the posts short and sweet.

I hope that this will help everyone find someone to game with.

How is this more efficient than getting people to register on the tools previously suggested?

Doing it via text forces you to wander through a large stream of posts in no particular order and then plug any relevant posts mapquest to find the distance to said location. Using a mapping tool or zipcode search tool is MUCH more efficient.

LG, I try to make things easy and all you do is rain on my parade!

All I am trying to do is make things simpler. frappr is too hard to use, Commandos is out of date (for me at least), and I am sure others will like the thought. If you want to use this thread fine. If not, that is fine too. All I am trying to do is help, because of all the trouble that I am having in finding a game.

Detroit, MI

Fair warning though. I play MegaMek from time to time, but haven't played tabletop in over a decade. I'm so old school I've never played a game with minis, just these little cardboard things with little plastic bases.

There is no option to look for games in Israel,

Send them an email, it's probably an unintentional oversite and they will probably add it.

OldZoat...

You're about 30-40 min away. Maybe we should get together for a game sometime if you don't mind walking a guy who hasn't played for fifteen years through the rules again.

outside Waterbury, CT

I know there is an active group in Groton, CT, but that's about 1 - 1.5 hours from me and not an easy commute.

Thanks for posting the Catalyst Game Labs player locator. Made it much easier to locate a local group/store to play at.
