True and sorta true.
XP was a true "the sequel was better than the original" instance.
1/3 of my PCs are STILL running XP.

Steve,

I hear you about the son thing, I too have trouble really telling my son how I feel about him, however, I do tell people that he is a great kid and I am proud of him and I try to do it within his hearing range.

My fear is not that he won't know how I feel about him but that he will think I love his sister more. This is no where near true, I have no favourite when it comes to my children, I love them both.

Let him know how you feel any way you can! Tell him and don't wait for a special moment like some achievement he makes, do it because of him and you are proud not because of what he does. It is important!

Thanks Steve.
Investing ourselves into our kids is so important and so easy, I'm mystified by how hard people think it is to do.

I admit to sometimes sucking at being Dad, but I'm so proud of how my kids are turning out. I blame the wife: She Is The Awesome.

Hey... Isn't that patent Rodimus Prime? (j/k)

I like the overkill mech, personally. The only downside is how quickly it'll kill it's ammo load.

I used to run a Daishi with 4 RAC/5's in the old Mechwarrior 4 game. It would strip armor off an enemy like an ice sculpture would melt under a flame thrower.

Hetzer mechs... If they can actually carry enough armor and a big enough gun, why not?

Interesting, Wall-E was actually a Mac. You missed the start up sound! Yep, that was a MAC not a PC sound. So, the PC was actually the one that shut down remotely and lacked spare parts. Nyaa, nyaa. :P And considering my history with PC's, Eve being a PC sounds correct. :x

Somebody really screwed the pooch with that analogy.

I say NEG.
I can have a OLD x386 DC up and running windows95 within the day.
slap spare parts in/out of it indefinitely to keep it running.

ye olde MAC: anything breaks, you're royally screwed.
admittedly, they have a low failure rate, but once it be broke... you're done.

Umm, My point was that Wall-E was a Mac, hence the start up sound. Eve was.... whatever she was in the future. A program inside her shut her down which, from what I understand, can be added to any computer regardless of maker. Where was she lacking parts? I missed that. Looked to me that she and all the other robots on the ship could have parts easily replaced. The analogy is a stretch.

The PC thing may be true outside of the movie, however, once again, given my record with PC's I'm not so sure. (Two PC's went to the shop for repairs with the reply "I'm sorry, we can't fix them." Damn good thing I really didn't use them for much else than dust collecting.)

No fail with the spoons, they are the new "upgrade" version of the spoon.... spoon 1.5. I think they were made by Microsoft.

Apple's "upgrade" version is straight with a sharp edge called spoon "Cheetah"!

Historicon was a blast. Its too bad you missed out on Deadliest Mechwarrior. I enjoyed having you there for The Battle of Chancellorsville and it was good seeing you at the Grand Melee. I especially enjoyed watching your Nova Cat get checked into the wall by that Pouncer lol.

Anyway, I did make out with some good loot this year, there's a video of it here.

It often amazes me the ingenuity of game designers and what they think up; a miniatures game set in the "War of the Worlds" universe! Freaking spectacular! :thumleft: :thumleft:

Hey, Steve. Glad to hear you didn't get caught up in the crap out at he Navy Yard. Sorry to hear that people you knew did, though.

On a more positive note, I'm liking the Warthogs. I also really liked that picture of the reimagined infantry circa 3067.

Understood about the muse deserting you, and the battle with depression. I have that just about every year about this time.

I detest this time of the year; it gets dark far too early and feels depressing. That combined with some grief my wife and I are getting from our son, I'm just about ready to chuck it all and head to a quiet tropical island somewhere!
